Bethlehem Steelworks

Well all, after finishing up Knoebels, I've started my new project, entitled Bethlehem Steelworks. The basis of this park is the old Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, PA (near where I went to college). In reality, after the plant closed, developers built a concert stage and a casino on the property. My project will examine an alternate reality, where instead, an industrial-themed amusement park was constructed on the site.

This topic will serve as an update of my progress. Comments and criticisms are welcome as always!

First attached image is the end of Steel Street, where a fountain showing the Bethlehem Steel logo is displayed. You can grab a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants, or you can pick up some souvenirs. The yellow coaster is called Austenite, and starts deep within the old blast furnances...

Second image is another main plaza within the park, where you can take a ride on Riverhawk (the peepable Huss condor ride), grab a bit at the Riverside Cafe, or hop onto Martensite, an exciting floorless B&M.

Been working on the park, albeit slowly. Here's another screen, showing the family suspended coaster Ferrite! It's based in one of the older buildings on the property, and zips through some of the ruins and around some of the other rides in the area.

I like that grass so much. What is your secret?

Start with taller stuff in the middle, make it smaller at the outsides. Think about making a Gaussian curve with the height of the foliage.

In other news, Perkins is now open right outside the park entrance!

Ooh, I love it so far! Where did you get all the custom content? I want to get into building buildings, and would love more stuff to work with.

Also, the coasters look fabulous!

All the custom scenery I use has been downloaded from www.nedesigns.com. Head over there, download some parks, and the objects will be added to your object folder automatically. You can also download some workbenches there, which have a decent selection of custom objects and a blank map for you to start with. You can then use the object selection tool in OpenRCT2 to add and subtract objects as desired.

And thanks for the compliments!
