Found the issue. My friend was using the Triple Thrill Pack whereas I was using the base game. After installing the Triple Thrill Pack I was able to connect just fine.

My friend has set up a multiplayer server and while others are able to join and play just fine, there seems to be some problem for me. Whenever I try to join I end up immediately disconnecting and my menu screen resets. I have tried reinstalling the game, launcher, and we have tried switching the server from development build to release, and still no luck. The strange thing is I was able to connect just fine to a server a different friend set up so I'm not sure whose end this issue is on. Does anyone know what the issue is? Thanks
